On Monday, Leicester Crown Court learned call records and data recovered from phones documented Ms Wandelt repeatedly asking Madeleine's mother for a DNA test throughout 2023 and 2024.

Madeleine's vanishing in 2007 - at the age of three during a vacation in Portugal - is among the most widely reported child disappearance cases and is still open.

'I Am Not Seeking Money'

Another phone message, presented in court, recorded Ms Wandelt stating: "I know I'm heavy and not pretty like Madeleine was, but I know what I believe."

While one recording of Ms Wandelt's one-way conversations with Mrs McCann's voicemail expressed: "Suppose there is a slight possibility that I am Madeleine? Then what? Isn't that crucial for you?"

"I am not seeking money, I possess a life here in Poland, I just want to discover," the recording stated.

The tribunal was advised that by means of electronic messages, mobile messages and phone calls, Ms Wandelt demanded a genetic test, transmitted childhood photos to her phone in a bid to show a likeness to Mrs McCann's missing daughter, and stated to have "recollections" from a childhood with the McCanns.

Robert Jones, a data specialist with Leicestershire Police who compiled the information, advised the court there "seemed to lack any answers" from Mrs McCann.

Ms Wandelt furthermore communicated with acquaintances of the McCanns, according to the communication logs.

On that date, Mr McCann responded to a call from Ms Wandelt to his wife's phone, stating she had "a wrong number."

During that incident Ms Wandelt left a voicemail on Mrs McCann's answerphone stating "I will continue and I intend to demonstrate my claim."

The court was informed Mrs Spragg developed a connection online with Ms Wandelt preceding assisting her on a visit to the McCanns' residence in that area in December 2024.

Phone records revealed Mrs Spragg had reached out through messaging service to Mrs McCann to express the media had portrayed Ms Wandelt as "mentally unstable" but that she deserved to be treated respectfully in the period preceding the visit to the village, Leicestershire, in last December.

The court was told message exchanges between the two accused, in that autumn, discussing attempting to obtain Mrs McCann's DNA samples from her bins or from cutlery at a eating establishment.

"We must assert ourselves," Mrs Spragg told Ms Wandelt.

On the evening of the trip to their house, Mrs Spragg dispatched a text which stated: "We're currently sitting adjacent to the McCanns' house with our vehicle dark like private investigators. I wanted to do this with someone else I didn't imagine I would be doing that with the McCanns."

The trial proceeds.
