Paramount Skydance Will Remove Around 2,000 American Positions – Update

Skydance Paramount will begin large-scale job cuts beginning on 27 October, removing about 2,000 American roles as part of a expense reduction strategy worth $2bn led by new chief executive David Ellison.

The workforce reduction follow the merger of Skydance Media and Paramount Global, completed this past August with a value of $8.4bn.

Further international job cuts are expected, as the firm planning to disclose full details via its third-quarter financial update set for the 10th of November.

Previous updates had indicated the firm was looking to reduce between 2,000 to 3,000 positions by the beginning of next month.

As of December 2024, the company retained almost 18,600 workers on full-time and part-time contracts along with 3,500 project-based staff.

The organization has not provided a response regarding the report.
